Jimil Gaskins, 25, of Norwalk, turned himself in on an active arrest warrant for burglary at the New Canaan Police Department late on Friday, Aug. 2.
Officers from the New Canaan Police Department responded to Green & Tonic on Burtis Avenue at approximately 11 p.m. on Feb. 12, where there wasn’t active burglary alarm, and a window was smashed with a rock.
Police said that on March 27, investigators in New Canaan were contacted by the Norwalk Police Investigative section to report that Gaskins had been arrested and confessed to several similar smash-and-grab commercial-type burglaries in Norwalk and their surrounding towns.
According to police, Gaskins confessed to committing the burglary at Green & Tonic, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Gaskins was processed and posted a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear back in court on Monday, Aug. 12 to respond to the charges.
